Technology, or Tech, is knowledge of how to do things. Knowing how to roast garlic at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, a process, is tech. It results in softer cloves that are easier to peel.

Nail Clippers





An implementation of knowledge, or things made from that knowledge, is also tech. A finger nail clipper is tech. It is the implementation of the knowledge of how make the steel, sharpen the edges and use leverage to apply force.

High tech consists of recent technologies. An iPhone is high tech. It contains numerous technologies less than 10 years old.


Finally, there is Science. Science is the fundamental understanding of how nature and the physical world works. Tech can be thought of as putting science to use. At the same time, science can provide the explanation of why a particular technology works.
